The Hermitage offers its guests a friendly and relaxed stay in the centre of Kingussie. A Victorian design of traditional stone and slate, The Hermitage was for several generations, the local Doctors home and practice. Set in its own grounds with private car parking, The Hermitage enjoys views of the magnificent Cairngorm Mountains and Ruthven Barracks from the garden. The Hermitage has been awarded a Four Star Quality Rating from the Scottish Tourist Board and is an ideal location from which to explore the Highlands.

The Hermitage offers five well equipped and comfortable en-suite bedrooms with some little extras to help make your stay memorable.

Downstairs...

One ground floor 6ft bed/ twin bedded room with en-suite shower and toilet. This room is suitable for those with mobility difficulties and shower stool and mats are provided.

Upstairs...

One double with single bed in adjacent room ( ideal for small family or use as a twin ) En-suite shower with toilet.
Cosy Double bed room with en-suite shower and toilet.
Twin room - a cheerful room with en-suite shower and toilet.
A spacious king-size bedroom with sofa and an en-suite bathroom.

Enjoy a hearty and healthy Scottish breakfast in our dining room over looking the garden and mountains.
All types of diets are happily catered for.

In the evening, Dinner is available and offers excellent home cooked menus with emphasis on fresh and local fare and as The Hermitage is licensed you may wish to enjoy a drink with your meal. We ask that meals be booked in advance where possible.
In our large and comfortable guest lounge, with an open log fire on cooler evenings it is an ideal place to enjoy a malt whisky, glass of wine or beer or coffee after Dinner or after a day exploring the Highlands. You will also find a wide variety of books and games to relax with or to plan the next day ahead, a good selection of local information.

The Hermitage has a large garden to the rear with uninterrupted views of the magnificent Cairngorm Mountains to the East. Whilst Kingussie is an ideal place to relax and unwind, there is an enormous variety of things to see and do, whatever your interests. Please have a look at our area page for a few ideas. Owing to its central location, The Hermitage also makes it an excellent base for touring further afield - north to Inverness and the Moray Firth, south to Perthshire, east to the castles of Deeside or westwards towards Fort William and Oban.
